I've been here a few times and always forget to leave a review. I was there today with my family and there was about an hour wait. I got on the waitlist and then wandered back down Main Street. The timing was accurate. I got the text our table was ready came back and got seated. We had the tri tip sandwich , the miner burger. Chilli cheese fries and a cookie dough milkshake. The service was quick and the food was delicious. I think the milkshake could have been thicker but it was still tasty. The atmosphere is pretty loud but not so loud you can't hear the people at your table. Overall our experience has always been great ,So we'll continue to return.
Had breakfast here on Christmas Eve. Employees are welcoming and friendly. Service was fantastic. Our meals arrived quickly and our server Michelle was attentive and helpful. I had the Denver omelet with home fries; and my husband had their chicken fried steak with eggs, hash browns and toast. Pricing was reasonable and the food was good. Loved the Christmas decor and festive atmosphere, including the train, vintage items and soda fountain/bar area. They also feature a candy cave and sell various retro toys and games.
Super cute soda fountain and eatery in Julian. The building is very old and has a cute train going around the entire restaurant which is good fun for kids while waiting for food. The walls are covered in vintage things and just has the coziest feel. We ordered some appetizers, fries and onion rings, a phosphate soda, and ice cream soda. All came out quick and everything was absolutely delicious. Service was efficient and really friendly. We will definitely stop in again next time we are in town.
ORDER THEIR SARSAPARILLA TO DRINK! This place is so cute inside and definitely gives mom & pops restaurant vibes. They have alot of Christian quotes around the restaurant & do not allow dogs. Overall I highly recommend eating here. Their bison burger is a perfect portion.
Food- 8/10 Service 9/10 Ambiance 9/10 Wait is worth, but inflation caught up with the servings cut down ro how it used to be.
If you find yourself in Julian, choose the pastrami. The servers were very friendly. Chili cheese fries were what we needed them to be. Kitschy interior with all the toys on display... there's also a candy cavern. If you have kids beware, too many options for little hands. The burgers weren't much to write home about, but the pastrami we really enjoyed.
Fun diner that brings you back to the past! Located on the Main Street of Julian, has a fun menu of burgers, sandwiches, sides, an old school soda fountain and desserts like milk shakes and ice cream. I got the slaughterhouse burger + fries and it was delicious!
